The Vagabond and the Moon
There was a man who lived
in the shadows of a city. He preferred the night that the day. The people, who do
not know him, whispered at his back while the man was sleeping.
- ¡Poor vagabond! - The
people said - ¡What an ugly and sad life!
The man always had a cat
with him, a beautiful white cat.
He had no possessions,
except for a small flute that cheered him at night.
When the city slept,
everything became peace and tranquility through the streets. Only the man with
his cat remained at that moment with his eyes open. That man, sitting at the foot
of the moon, sounded his flute filling the avenues with happiness, color and
magic.
- ¡How lucky and fortunate
I feel sitting here! - comments the musician caressing his beautiful cat.
Playing and playing the
flute without realizing the entire night. And when everyone started to wake up
he returned with his cat to look for roofs where he could rest.
Again, and again until the
day was over, and the night and music had a place again.
